Haveringland, Norfolk
A timber framed rear extension for a brick barn conversion in North Norfolk. The new room is angled in plan to form a sheltered sunlit terrace between the extension and a garden wall and to provide a strong visual connection between the kitchen and a piece of land recently acquired by the owners: the extension ‘peers’ around the garage at the end of the main garden to the land beyond. The external walls are finished in black stained vertical boarding with red pantiles on the roof, a traditional farm building palette that inverts the colours of roof and wall on the existing house.
